Having options is nice! But, what does all this even mean? Let me break it down for you, so that you know exactly what you are getting.
Design with Ease:
Vinyl Application
This vinyl is a very thin adhesive, or sticky back, material. Permanent vinyl is used in this application. This means that with proper care, it can last a long time. This type of vinyl is typically used on drink ware, mailboxes, outdoor signs, car decals, etc. It is meant to be washed with care, and there are lots of color options are available. .
Tips
Hand wash ONLY
Do not pick or peel at the edges of the vinyl
Do not soak in water
There may be some limitations in types of fonts or images used.
Sublimation
It is a chemical process that transfers a design onto a polymer based product using ink and heat. In scientific terms, it transfers a solid to a gas, without ever becoming a liquid. Cool right? This process uses a specific paper during the printing process. A special ink is used, which turns into a gas and becomes embedded into the certain material when heated. This becomes permanent and less likely to fade. Sublimation allows for color and intricate details.
Tips
Hand washing is recommended depending on type of cup. Hand washing prolongs life of all items.
Can be washed in top rack of dishwasher.
Ceramic sublimated mugs can be put in microwave
Laser Engraved
In house, we have a CO2 laser engraver. Magically (with science and electricity, light, mirrors, gas tubes), the mirrors guide the laser beam on the surface to cut or engrave based on a computer design. It is very fun to watch! Basically it etches away the coating of the surface of the cup. Can be used on glass, coated tumblers, and coated mugs.
Tips
Handwashing is recommended to prolong the life of the product. Depending on the cup, some items can be washed in dishwasher.
Only the stainless steel color shows through once the coating is etched away.
